Our team provides engineering, planning, permitting and execution services, as well as project management, in areas such as dredging and environmental remediation of contaminated soils; seawall and dock construction and repair; shoreline restoration and erosion control; water flow control systems; demolition of in-water structures, and construction/repair of fender systems for bridges over navigable waters.

Michael J. Marshall, Ph.D. - Marine Ecologist

Dr. Marshall assists AA Engineering in meeting the environmental requirements of our projects and develops new methods to protect and enhance the environment.  His experience includes:

  • Survey and mapping of seagrasses, restored mangroves (Naples, Puerto Rico, Colombia)
  • Seagrass beds (Puerto Rico, Port Manatee, Nicaragua)
  • Saltmarshes (Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge)
  • Constructed oyster reefs (member of the Reef Ball Coral team)
  • Studied the impacts of a large oil spill on seagrass beds in Panama for the U. S. Minerals Management Service
  • Conducted diving and video surveys of a variety of underwater habitats in Central America.
  • 40+ publications in the areas of restoration and preservation of diverse ecosystems.
  • He is a member of numerous biological and environmental societies
